Red and Black

Red and Black

Red and Black

Red and Black

I've found that recently I've been wearing masses of clothes that match the tattoos on my feet. It's never planned that way either, how odd! Either I've been dreaming of more red and black tattoos or perhaps I secretly want to become a revolutionary? I must say, red and black is one of my favorite color combos because it looks chic and sophisticated, but always feels a little rebellious because of the way red pops against black. Uh oh, I just looked down and realized I wore a red and black ensemble today for work as well...I can't escape!

For this set of photos I decided to take some advice from Emily, of Cupcakes and Cashmere, who said at IFB that her biggest photography advice is to take photos at dusk. Even though I wasn't really feeling my best when I took these shots the light still has a glowing misty quality that softens the photos. I'm pretty sure my rooftop at dusk is where I'm going to be from now on!

Does anyone else have any handy photography tips?

Edit: And these are my tattoos!

I have found that dusk is the best picture taking time too! I love this outfit so much- so sailory and retro looking! Your tattoos are beautiful, and I totally find myself wearing clothes/jewelry that match my tattoos! Haha!

THAT'S YOUR ROOFTOP!?!?! so freaking jealous! take more photos there! you are gorgeous in this outfit! i love that big bow on your head and your red and black ensemble! i have to agree with you--every time i pair red and black together, i feel a bit rebellious since they're usually associated with the devil :)

Yes! The lighting in these pictures is great!
My only tip is to look at the pictures as you're taking them. I have (on many MANY) occasions just snapped away, assuming the pictures would come out fine, only to find that the lighting was off, my dress was tucked in weirdly, or the camera was tilted on the tripod. Then those pictures are pretty much useless, or take forever to edit!

I love this whole outfit! Very pretty and vintage chic. :) And nice tattoos! I hear foot tattoos are some of the most painful. And you have 2! You must be a tough one. :P

I was just about to ask - post a pic of your tat! I'm a big fan of any and all... particularly the old style sailor tatts! Love the ensemble, I'm always a bit scared of red (probably would clash with my hair) but you pull it off perfectly jazzy ♥
