Ford F150
I told y'all I'd give you a little update on my latest vehicle...a 1988 Ford F150! It is a huge truck and the perfect Tahoe car. I'm excited to haul my paddleboard around in it in the summertime, and I really want to buy a camper shell for it and take it on outings! Even though it broke down two days after I got it up here and got stuck in the snow, I still love it. It has so much personality! It's funny, people have started to recognize me driving in already because it is so obvious. It's like my neon blue ski helmet!
Do any of you have really distinctive cars?

Reservoir
Here are some more photos from my visit home. This reservoir has a trail leading to it from right behind my house so I've spent lots of time wandering the paths up there. It's my favorite thing about my hometown, and every time I visit my parents I make sure to spend an hour or two every day going for walks and looking at the view. The reservoir is dotted with paddleboats in good weather, people fish off the docks surrounding the water, and on weekends the grass is teeming with picnic-ers. The reservoir is not something you expect to find in suburbia and I think that's why I love it so much. It is especially beautiful at sunset, and there is an amazing view of Mt. Diablo from the rim trails around the top.
I loved being home and seeing my family and girl friends in San Francisco, but I gotta say, Tahoe is hard to beat! I've been getting a little spring skiing and snowboarding in, working hard, and spending time with friends. One of my friends has a five year old son and I love hanging out with him; we play sword fights, hockey, and all sorts of other silly but exciting things. It's nice to be totally wacky with him, especially since I'm no longer teaching so I don't have any kids to play ridiculous games and ski with.
I'm so excited to wear this dress when spring rolls around. It's from UO, and I love the little ruffles around the neck. The shoes and belt are thrifted of course! We've been having some glimpses of sunshine here and there and they just cleared the bike path. I cannot wait to start riding around in my sundress!
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. Did you do anything exciting to celebrate?

Happy Easter
Just thought I would pop in to wish you a very happy Easter filled with family, friends, lots of joy, and hopefully some sunshine! This is the first Easter I've had that I haven't been able to go to church. I was a little sad about it, but I'm going to go next week to make up for it. I helped organize an Easter Egg hunt on the mountain today, and all of the little kids ran around collecting up eggs and putting them in their helmets. It was so cute!
These are some of my favorite Easter treats to make. All you do is form rice krispy treats into little nests, and then put some delicious Cadbury eggs in them. They are delicious and look so darling!
Well, I'm off to a (rather chilly)BBQ. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Beachy Keen
A very happy person at least, everything is coming together for the summer and I could not be more excited. I will be working for my friend's paddleboard company, as well as working at the general store. My job is going to be promoting the company and leading tours. Which basically means paddling about in tiny pink shorts and coercing unsuspecting tourists into coming out on the Lake with me. I am looking forward to it so much! The snow is melting melting melting here, which I have to say, I'm kind of glad about. I have been going on lots of walks, eating fresh salads, and spending lots of time trekking around my little neighborhood to see friends. My truck (more on that later!) has been broken for a few days until now (one of my friends is the best car fixer a girl could ever hope for!) and I have been so grateful for the warm weather since I have been hitching everywhere. I love that Tahoe is small and safe enough that everyone hitchhikes, it's kind of the perfect way to get around!
I think you've seen all of this outfit before, aside from the silk blouse. Of course, everything is thrifted, aside from my trusty shorts, which are French Connection. They are featured in my absolute favorite post from last summer, and I can't wait to start wearing them again!
Now, onto the beach. I went home to visit my family for a few days and met up with Jessie, a friend of a friend from Edinburgh. It was so lovely to be able to talk about Scotland again, I do miss it. I really enjoyed showing her a bit of California life outside of San Francisco, and we had a delicious picnic, relaxing walk on the beach, and such good chats while we watched the scenery whipping by my little car.
I hope you are all having wonderfully sunny times this week! Any interesting snippets of your week you'd like to share?

Little Red Riding Hood
This is my barista outfit. I just got a job as a coffee and sandwich making lady at a local west shore deli, because my resort is closing soon. I am still ski instructing 4 days a week though, I can't give up the amazing snow right now that easily! It is nice to be working in a "normal" job again, where I can wear what I want and don't have to talk in child speak all day. (Although that obviously has its bonuses too...I mean, who doesn't enjoy pretending they are a skiing unicorn/leprechaun/grizzly bear?) The deli is such a fun place to work, although I'm the only girl who works there! The man to woman ratio in Tahoe is crazy, like 7:1. It's been weird getting used to it. I've honestly never had so many guy friends in my life!
I have been living in this coat recently. I love wool coats with hoods because they are so warm, and I feel like red riding hood in this one! It was truly made for the cold weather; it has a zippered waistcoat sort of lining which makes it very toasty.
Coat, backpack, boots:Thrifted Jeans: Uniqlo
I'm so excited for all the changes that spring is bringing. New jobs, new friends, and new interests! Has springtime sparked anything new and wonderful in your life?

Spring-a-ling
The snow has been a little gross (ie a sticky death trap) lately because of the changing weather conditions, so I've been snowboarding a lot more, because every time I've been skiing in this slush I've wanted to go way too fast and, well, results haven't been pretty. In the skiing world we call the type of fall I'm fairly well known for around these parts "yard sale-ing" because your skis, poles, and other possessions (sunglasses, errant gloves, change, your car keys) end up getting strewn out over the mountain. So, snowboarding it is for the near future!
I was so excited to pull this dress out of my closet because it is so perfect for this weather. I love how it looks paired with brown. I got it at a thrift store in Reno and altered it because before it was a maxi dress. I still can't pull off the maxi look, as much as I desperately want to! The rest of the outfit is thrifted too. One of the other ski instructors provided me with a beautiful new addition to my charm necklace, a crystal that he picked out for me and welded wires to so that I could wear it on a pendant. It's absolutely beautiful, and it's funny that I've been wanting a crystal for so long and then one came across my path!
What have you been doing to enjoy the weather and celebrate spring?
