I just started a writing class this week, and I am so glad to be writing again. In college I was really into poetry (you can see my now defunct deviantart page here) and I have been missing having that creative part of my brain alive and kicking and noticing all of the awesome imagery happening around me. I have been writing every morning for the past few days and it has been wonderful.
It has been a little hard to keep the blog going strong lately because we still have no internet. I'm trying though! I really apologize to those of you who have been waiting for a response to an email or a reply to a comment. They are coming as soon as I have a little time in a coffee shop to internet it up.
I got this beautiful coat from the salvation army for just $5 dollars, which is a sweet deal! I get so many compliments on it every time I wear it out. You have seen my dress (one of my much loved FCUK purchases) here and here, and of course the vintage boots about a thousand other times. I really need to get my thrift on and find me some more pairs of boots. I am on the hunt for some black equestrian style ones.
Are any of you scouring the thrift stores for a certain something?

pretty photos, i love the dress :) plus i know how frustrating it is when your internet access is limited! x
i am so.incredibly.jealous of your surroundings. growing up in the city has left a BIG hole in my heart that can only be filled with lots of trees and/or mountains.
hope youre enjoying your writing class! :D
Ugh. I have to visit you there in Tahoe one day Lucy! It's so much more manageable to travel there from CA than to NYC :) Your photos in the snow are always so stunning and you look truly happy in your surroundings! That coat really is an incredibly find! I'm glad to hear you've been writing again! I used to write too but haven't done it in so so so many years! I just might have to start again :)
Such a great coat! Snowy woods are just lovely for photos (although sinking into the snow can be a challenge :D)
I've pretty much maxed out my closet space so I have put myself on a shopping ban. Replacements only *sigh* Yay for remixing :)
great photos, the lighting is lovely. i am sure the air up there must be so pure. congrats on the writing class, that sounds like a lot of fun
Coat perfect for the snowy weather. Love the pictures.
Beautiful photos! I love the setting. So pretty. And your coat is amazing. Amazing deal as well!

Aww man, that dress is pretty sweet!
I love to see your snow photos. The snow at my region has sadly disappeared. It's way too warm. So enjoy your lovely landscape. and please keep sharing it. My winter-loving heart appreciates it :)
Love, kimi
Lovely snowy pics. Love the trees and everything!(:
Don't know if this is your thing or not, but I have an award waiting for you. Feel free to check out my latest post(:

I can tell you're a wonderful writer, just by reading your first few sentences of this post! I bet it feels so nice to be back to writing. I'm the same way with writing and playing music. I just started a music performance class and it feels so good to be back. Your outfit is so cute! That coat is such a great find! I've definitely found some great dresses and boots lately, but I'm in search of jackets and high-waisted pants. I might have to go try to find some today! I'm glad you're enjoying the snow! It looks very similar here right now!
