Focus: Softly

Velvet Skirt

I've had a bit of an introspective week this week. After chatting with my writing class teacher about what my goals for writing are, I got to thinking about my goals for the next year or so. I am enjoying being a ski instructor so much; the happy kiddos, amazing coworkers, and of course being on a beautiful mountain every day make my job so fulfilling. BUT, the mountain will close for the year in April, and then what am I going to be doing? I have a couple of ideas percolating at the moment, but it is hard to settle on anything right now because there is so much stuff that I want to do before I settle down somewhere and get a "real" job. It's also difficult because I have no idea what I want that job to be!

This velvet skirt is a thrift find that I didn't wear for ages because it was too tight. Luckily skiing for 6 hours every day has worked off my muffin top sufficiently for me to wear it! Though god only knows what will happen when I stop skiing so much and I'm still eating two dinners like I am at the moment! I never realized how much energy you need to be teaching kids all day.

The hat is a lucky find from Beacon's Closet, and it's so beautiful. It's difficult to wear for everyday (my roommate had a laughing fit when he saw it!) but I am looking forward to wearing it this summer. Maybe to some weddings?

I hope you're all having a happy week. Are any of you having as many problems deciding your
future as I am?

Lovely outfit! The accessories are absolutely fantastic. :)
Hope you find something you enjoy as much as ski instructing; best of luck! :D

These are purdyyy.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I used to have such a clear understanding about what I was going to do after I graduate...but now I'm not so sure. It's a bit intimidating out there. Enjoy the skiing while you can, then off to the next adventure! Best o' luck.

Oh that pin is such an intricate and lovely touch! Teaching kids is tiring! I get so incredibly hungry at work! I snack when the kids snack hehe :) You look so wonderful in that hat and that velvet skirt Lucy! I am so excited to see what the world has in store for you <3

Love this outfit, hope you didn't freeze too much in that snow! I'd have had 6 jumpers, a coat, hat, scarf and gloves on!
Good luck on finding a job you love, I'm sure you will! :).

Yup, I feel like I could have written your text. To be fair, life is always a bit like that for me, but I'm starting to feel old and bored of constant uncertainty (should I buy a one way flight or a return--oh, can't decide because I don't know what's happening THREE WEEKS from today. Bah! Anyway, best of luck with your own uncertainties... : )

I love the hat and pin in particular, but the whole look is simply elegant!

You are GORGEOUS! And that vintage hat is amazing. When I wore a vintage floral crown to my friend's housewarming party everyone asked me if I was a bride-to-be, which I thought was funny in a sad way. I'm also envious that you are eating two dinners! My wish when I was seven years old was to live a life where I could eat two lunches, three dinners and no breakfast, because dinner was my favorite meal of the deal, followed by lunch, and breakfast always bored me. I'm in the same place as you, girl, because I don't know what I'm going to do in April, and there's a big part of me that is revolting against the idea of getting a real job..

Hope you'll find out what you want. I'm sure you just need some time to realise what it is.
I love that detail of the flower in your shirt.

This outfit is so gorgeous - love all the little details like the pin and hat.

Even though it brings some anxiety, I think it's exciting that you have so many options ahead of you. Every experience you have shapes you as a person and makes you that much more interesting - I look forward to seeing what you do next!
