Last post I was very excited about the AMGEN bike race. Well, thanks to a little frequent visitor in our Tahoe lives, snow, it was cancelled. I felt so sorry for all of the fans who had come up to Tahoe to see all the racers and the organizers of the race. The bicyclists would have been unsafe if they had ridden though; we got about a foot of snow today and they closed the pass on the highway at one point! The racers are skipping stage one and starting stage two tomorrow, where they will go from Squaw Valley to Sacramento. I'm just hoping that this time the snow holds off long enough for them to get out of the mountains!
The pictures of my car don't really do justice to the amount of snow we had. That was just this morning. Later that day I spent ages scraping the snow off my truck and I've been having to drive around in 4WD, not something that I thought would be happening this close to summer. Here's to having powder days in May!
