Nothin's Going to Change the Look on Our Faces
Here's a little slice of my Tahoe life. My good buddy Nate and I went on a little adventure up to the top of Eagle Rock, one of my favorite spots in Tahoe. We had a hard time getting to the top because we decided to go on a different route, through Nate's backyard, and ended up having to do this pretty exciting river crossing!
Here's Nate contemplating how to get across:
But we made it to the top, and had some amazing views to enjoy!
This is the road I bike/drive every day to work. How lucky am I?
Do you have any awesome hiking spots?

Dirty Boots
Last night I had one of the most amazing times I've had so far in Tahoe, at a full moon party. It was held in this incredible little enclave in the woods, with 25 dub step DJs, an amazing view, some pretty spectacular light shows, and of course the full moon shining down on us all night! I went with my housemates and I managed to get them to dress up with me; I wore a flower crown and lots of glitter all over my face, and I put feathers in their hair. I hula hooped most of the night, and juggled with some LED light balls that my roommate Billy gave me. At one point a guy came up to me and told me that he thought he loved me, but I'm pretty sure he just liked my lights and my hula hoop a whole lot! Too funny. I love the community up here, everyone is super supportive, and I think I get to attend more art, music, and literary events than I did in New York, which is pretty impressive, considering the population of Tahoe City is only about 3,000 people!
Yesterday I bought a ton of veggies and made a little garden, so today I'm going to paint my planters and start brewing some Kombucha. We're making our little community in this house into a real home, and my housemates are such wonderful people. I love the vibe we've got going on; there's always someone playing music or cooking or doing something totally rad.

This outfit is pretty similar to what I wore to the full moon party but I added two sweatshirts and a poncho on top because it was chillll-y! That airplane brooch pinned to my shoulder was a present from my roommate Rachel. She is an awesome thrifter!
What did you do to celebrate the full moon?

Honey I'm Home
Hello hello! I finally have internet in my house so I'm back to blogging!
I've been working like woah so I haven't had much time to do anything. Last month was eventful, filled with serendipity and spectacular things. I moved house to live with some good friends and wonderful people. There are eight of us and while I think we were all worried that it might turn into an "animal house" sort of situation, it has been amazing! Most of us are super into music, and four of the guys that live here are in a band, Terraplane, so we all go out and support them at their various gigs around town and in Reno. We've also been cooking up a storm and are going to buy lots of veggies to plant in our garden. My favorite part about the house is the porch swing we have made out of an old ski chair lift. It's the perfect place to spend the mornings with some super fresh juice, now that I have resurrected my juicer...it requires a lot of counter space! We spend most of our evenings chillin in our hot tub or watching ridiculous sci fi movies from the 80s. I'm sharing a room with my good friend Rachel and we've been having an awesome time trawling the local thrift stores for decorations. We call the room our egg because of the way the rafters are it is almost dome shaped! It is super cozy.
I've been working three jobs, at a boat company on the west shore, as an "umbrella girl" at one of the rafting companies, and renting paddle boards at my yoga studio, which teaches stand up paddle yoga. Life is sooo good, even if it is busy! While I dislike most things about having to wake up at 4am for work, watching the sun rise over the Lake is one of the best parts of my day. I took these photos at the dock I work at, isn't it gorgeous?
Tell me what wonderful things are happening in your summer!
